This Module teaches students how to maintain sterile techniques when preparing sterile products, such as parenteral IV’s. Students will learn the aseptic techniques needed for sterile preparations, and will practice in a “real world�setting.
Pharmacy Principles and Practice Course Format: Classroom This course covers the history of pharmacy and provides an overview of related legal and ethical issues. Students will learn the role of pharmacy technicians, including prescription processing and competency, while using the Reliefâ„?Advanced Pharmacy System software.
Pharmacy Calculations Course Format: Classroom The Pharmacy Calculations course provides students with the math skills needed for pharmacy calculations. The course covers doses calculations of solid drug forms and liquids, doses and rate flow of intravenous medications, and calculations of pediatric and geriatric dosages.
Medical Language Course Format: Classroom This course provides students with medical terminology and skills to understand basic word structure and analysis. By dividing medical terms into their component parts and learning their definitions, students are equipped to use this knowledge to define new terms.
Clinical Worksite Placement Course Format: Classroom Clinical worksite placements, sometimes referred to as worksite experiences, clinical externships, or practicum placements, are a critical training component for students in the CMAP Pharmacy Technician Program. This is the period when students are actually placed in real workplace environments.
