English Communication for Healthcare
Course Format: Classroom
This course is designed to provide learners at all levels of English language proficiency with the opportunity to improve their writing skills. Topics covered are grammar, spelling, medical terminology, types of language, paraphrasing, summarizing, academic offences, and the forms of professional written communication encountered by the dental hygienist.
 

Foundations of Community Dental Hygiene
Course Format: Classroom
This course will assist learners to promote oral health and prevent oral diseases through community-based programs. It provides learners with an understanding of the health care system, and the social, political and economic forces influencing the system. Discussions will focus on health promotion strategies with particular emphasis on teaching and learning approaches.
 

Clinical Dental Hygiene
Course Format: Classroom
The course will provide learners with opportunities to further develop the psychomotor, reasoning and decision-making abilities required for clinical practice. Learners will provide dental hygiene services for clients as a member of a clinical team.
