Introduces students to tools and techniques used in working with non-ferrous metals through a combination of demonstrations, studio work and group discussions. Furthers design awareness and develops step-by-step metals techniques and craftsmanship skills on three-dimensional form as functional or wearable art.

Provides overview of the advertising design field by studying advertising layout, package, industrial and brochure design, corporate image, signage, point of purchase, and direct mail. Also examines the motivational, psychological, functional, and aesthetic aspects of the advertising industry.
 

Gallery Design and Management
Course Format: Classroom
Explores the inner workings of a gallery from the perspectives of the artist and gallery director. Training includes installation of exhibits, communicating with artists, recordkeeping, mailings, shipping and receiving art work, and publicity. Discussion focuses on the various methods of installation, contemporary issues, historical perspectives, and critiques.

Explores how the concepts of light, form, and spatial relationships create the illusion of three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface. Introduces traditional and contemporary drawing techniques using a variety of black and white media.
