Some popular Web authoring tools will also be introduced. Project assignments include the development of simple Web pages and sites using both the HTML code and other tools.
Web Site Design Course Format: Classroom Design principles and interactive communication techniques are used to create an aesthetic and communicative Web site. Students will use HTML, VRML and JAVA scripts in the creation of the Web page.
WAN Course Format: Classroom This course discusses typical Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies along with survey on existing services and applications. Introductory router configuration skills will be included.
Linux System Administration Course Format: Classroom This course covers intermediate to advanced system and network administrative tasks and related skills required by a Linux based network. Functional areas include the setup, configuration, maintenance, security and troubleshooting of Linux servers and related services in a complex network environment. Tools and scripting skills associated with these areas will also be discussed.
Linux Operating System Course Format: Classroom Installation, configuration and management of a Linux operating system will be explored. Focus will be on functions that resemble the UNIX environment. Directory and file management, user account management and certain device management (such as drives, printers, interface cards, etc.) will be discussed.
Database Development Course Format: Classroom Students will be introduced to database design and implementation. Topics include database history, structure, objects and introductory Structured Query Language (SQL).
Operating Systems Course Format: Classroom This course serves as a survey on typical internal functions of a generic computer operating system. The computers ability to manage such resources as memory, device, I/O, files and user interfaces, etc., is discussed to rationalize how a computer takes a users command and accomplishes the task. Some typical user interface of popular operating systems will be introduced.
ASP.NET Course Format: Classroom The study of programming techniques in the ASP.NET environment. The focus will be on applying a relevant language to develop Web applications by using various ASP.NET components and capabilities, such as assemblies, deployment and versioning, common type system and serialization.
Structured Programming Course Format: Classroom Areas of study in this course include industry accepted programming practices and coding standards. This course is designed to help students apply concepts such as refactoring, design for performance, object orientation, use of frameworks and reusability/adaptability. This course emphasizes the application of the concepts covered in JAVA / C# / VB coding.
JAVA Course Format: Classroom Areas of instruction include knowledge and skills used in applying JAVA components to build Web-based applications. The focus will be on JSP, Servlet, JDBC and related components.
